今天提及的是具体的Description写作内容。
01
确定对象
描述的对象首先要明确
The subject for a descriptive essay may be any object, place, person, or state of mind that you have observed closely enough or experienced sharply enough to invest with special significance.
那么也就是说，你首先要找到一个值得描写的对象，这个其实是比较重要，也是写作者通常会忽视的，而接下来你就开始你的观察。

观察
在最初的观察阶段，你要去捕捉你对象的特点，或者其对你产生的特别影响，你可以把一些细节记下来，当然你的草稿是要留到之后再去写的。

建立中心句
陈述文章也是需要有中心句的，然而这个论据并不是说是一个具体的观点，其更侧重的点在于这句话是会施加给读者什么样的影响
When you have your subject, specify in a sentence the impression that you want to create for readers.
这本书也具体地描述了中心句的作用：
The sentence will help keep you on track while you search for the sensory details that will make your description concrete and vivid.
当然这本书还指出了一点就是，很多时候你可以不把中心句直接写出来，你可以让你文章的细节表达出你文章的核心观点——中心句的含义

建构
虽说描述对象的细节可能不是以一种特定的顺序展开的，但是写作者需要以一种清晰的顺序将这些细节排列好，以防读者在阅读时感到困惑。
The organization of the body of the essay depends partly on point of view and partly on dominant impression.
首先是视角，是动态还是静态，是俯瞰还是仰望这些都影响着你描述对象时细节的排序
其次是主导印象，如果你的描述对象是静态的，那么怎么描述可能就会涉及到情感或者其他选择。

初稿
在初始创作中最好是一步步地去描述对象，先从一个感官感觉入手，然后在慢慢加入其他，这样有助于写作者将对象描述得更清晰。
You may find it helpful to consider the subject one sense at a time
Examining one sense at a time is also one of the best ways to conceive of concrete words and figures of speech to represent sensations and feelings.

修改编辑
在修改的时候可以问自己以下几个问题：
1. Have you in fact created the dominant impression you intended to create?
2. Are your point of view and organization clear and consistent?
3. Have you used the most specific, concrete language you can muster?
总结起来就是三点：1.有没有建立主导印象；2. 视角和结构是不是清晰且具有持续性；3. 语言是否精炼。
这就是Description的写作基础章程，接下来会提到的是Narration.
