第12课 在海滩
何娜娜和John入住亚龙湾某酒店，他们进入各自房间，然后打电话给客房服务(room service)，要了咖啡和面包送到房间，边吃边休息，不知不觉已是下午四点多了。何娜娜通过微信与John约定五点在酒店大堂见面，一起去海滩走走。听听他们是怎么说的。

Nana: Yes， it is.

John: It"s clean, and the sand is white.

句中“as+形容词或副词+as”的结构用于比较，意为“像……一样；如同”。如：

句中的 go for sth 意为“去从事某项运动或活动”。如：go for a walk / drive / swim / run 去散步、去开车兜风、去游泳、去跑步。请看例句：

形容词词组 be famous for 意为“以……而著名”。如：

另一搭配有 be famous as，意为“作为……而出名”。如：
She was more famous as a writer than as a singer.
她作为作家要比作为歌手名气更大。
7.How long is the beach?
海滩有多长?
how long 引出特殊疑问句，常用于询问长度，意为“有多长”。如：
(1)A: How long is the bridge?
此桥有多长?
B: It"s about two kilometers.
约2千米长。
(2)How long is the River Wan quan?
万泉河有多长?
询问长度还有一种说法是“What"s the length of the bridge?(桥长是多少?)”。
8.How far is it from here to the city center?
(亚龙湾)离市中心有多远?
how far 引出特殊疑问句，常用于询问距离，意为“有多远”。如：
How far is it from here to your hotel?
从这里到你下榻的酒店有多远?
How far is it from your house to the train station?
从你家到火车站有多远?
9.The sea is so calm and clear.
大海是多么的寂静，海水是多么的清澈。
句中的 so 是副词，意为“很；极”，修饰形容词。如：
I"m so pleased to meet you.
见到你真高兴。
The girls look so pretty in their summer dresses.
姑娘们穿上夏天的连衣裙看着漂亮极了。
10.It"s so clear that you can see the creatures to a depth of about eight meters.
海水清澈得可以看见约8米深处的生物。
句中 so...that... 是常用句型，表示结果。so 为副词，表示程度，意为“这么，这样；那么，那样；如此”。如：

形容词 fantastic 是一个口语常用词，表示“极好的；了不起的”。如：

海南天气宜人。
13.The sunshine, blue sky, fine sand, and clear water make such a picturesque setting.

句中 setting 用作名词，意为“环境；背景”。请看例句：

14.Abslutely right. 说得太好了。
这是一个省略句，全句应为“You"re absolutely right.”意为完全正确，句中right 是形容词。如：

absolutely 是由形容词 absolute 加-ly构成的副词，意为“绝对地；完全地”，强调真实无误。如：
The teacher made it absolutely clear.
老师把这件事讲得一清二楚。
absolutely 也可以单独使用，表示“当然；对极了”，强调同意或允许。如：
A: Could I leave the classroom after I"ve finished my exam?
考完试后我能离开教室吗?
