So, this is a business vocabulary lesson, and today we are going to look at how to ask about the cost of something, how to comment about the cost being too high for you, and, then how to get someone to maybe lower the price of something.

这是一个商业英语词汇课程,今天我们将要学习的是如何进行询问商品的价钱,如何表达价格偏高以及,如何让卖家愿意降低售价。

Now, what situations can we do this in, you know, in the 21st century?

在 21 世纪的今天,什么样的情况中我们可以讨价还价?

This is if you"re trying to negotiate the cost of a car maybe, the cost of a house, or it can be something in a local market or a garage sale.

或许是谈判一辆车子,一间房子的价格,也可以是在地方市场或是车库买卖。

So, first let"s look at how to ask about the cost of something.

首先,我们先来看要怎样询问物品的价格。

And I have one, two, three, four, five, six different questions that you can use to ask about cost, to ask about the price.

这里有6种不同的疑问句型让你用来询价。

Number one:

第一种:

" How much does this/that/it cost? "

「这个/那个/它 要多少钱?」

For the sake of me not saying the words: " this" , " that" , " it" every time, I"m just going to say " this" , but know that you can say:

为了避免每次使用这个/那个/它,我就统一说成「这个」,不过你要知道你可以怎么说:

" How much does this cost? " ,

「这个要多少钱?」

" How much does that cost? " ,

「那个要多少钱?」

" How much does it cost? "

「它要多少钱?」

Okay?

懂了吗?

So, next: " How much is this/that/it? "

接下来:「这个/那个/它 几元?」

Instead of: " How much does this cost? " , " How much is this? "

以「这几元?」代替「这个要多少钱?」

Next: " How much is this/that/it going for? "

接着:「这个/那个/它 你要卖多少钱?」

So, this is an expression.

好了,这是一种表达的方式。

Something goes for a certain amount of money.

某样商品以特定的价格出售。

For example, say: " Oh, this comic book is going for $20."

例如:「这本漫画书要价20元」。

Maybe it"s a rare collector"s edition or something.

或许它是一个稀有的收藏版本。

" It is going for. . ." , " It costs. . ."

「它要卖……」、「它值……」。

This is how much people are paying for it.

也就是买家愿意给付的价格。

Okay.

好的。

" Hey. How much is it for this/that/it? "

「这个/那个/它要卖多少?」

So you"re asking: " How much money, you know, is it. . . ?

所以你在问:「这个多少钱?」

Does it cost for this?

它要卖这个价钱吗?

How much is it for this? "

这个的价钱是多少?

And if you want to be a little bit more specific, this one you can use in a more informal situation, like a garage sale, for example, or at the market, like:

如何你要更清楚的表达,接下来这个方法你可以用在比较不正式的场合,像是车库二手拍卖,或是在市场:

" Hey. How much do you want for this? "

「这个你想要卖多少?」

Or " how much do you want for that or it?

或是:「那个你想要买多少?」

How much do you want for it? "

「它你要卖多少?」

And another one: " Is this/that the final price? "

还有另外一种方法:「这个/那个是你可以给的最好价格吗?」

So, you"re kind of opening the door to say: " Mm, is this the final price? I"m not sure I want to pay this price. Is it the final price or can I talk about it with you? "

因此,这就像你开门见山的说:「恩,这个是最好的价格了吗?我不确定我能接受这个价钱。它已经是底价了还是我们可以商量一下?」

Sometimes the person you are talking to, you know, if you ask them this question:

" Is this the final price? " and they"ll say: " Well, you know, what are you thinking?

Like what do you have in mind?

What is another price we can talk about? "

Now, if you want to negotiate and you want to get the price down, you need to comment. and say: " It"s a little. . ."

现在,如果你想要有讨价空间,你得做下回应。并说:「这价格有一点……」

For example, this thing, whatever, you"re looking at the price and this thing. . .

举例来说,这样东西,你看着商品的价格,而它……

Imagine this is $500.

想象一下这要500元。

$500 for this amazing globe.

Now, you can say:

现在,你可以说:

" $500. It"s a little expensive." ,

「500元有点太贵了」

" It"s a little pricey."

「这个价格有点过高」

" Pricey" is an adjective.

"pricey" 是形容词。

You see the word " price" , it"s slang for expensive.

当你看到 "price",在俚语里代表昂贵的意思。

" It"s a little pricey."

「它有点太贵了」

" It"s a little out of my price range."

「它有点超出我的价格范围」

So, for example, you have a range.

例如,你有一个范围。

A range means kind of like from $0 to $200 is my range.

范围的意思是好比0元到200元是我的范围。

That"s where I can go with the price, but $500, that is ridiculous.

那是我可以接受的,但是500元是贵的离谱了。

Same with: " It"s a little over my budget."

和「它有点超出我的预算」一样。

So, your budget is how much money you can spend or how much money you want to spend.

你的预算是指你可以花费多少或是说你愿意花费多少。

So, my budget to buy this globe was $300.

我购买这个地球仪的预算是300元。

$500 is over my budget.

500 元已超过我的预算。

You can say:

你可以这样说:

" It"s more than I have. I don"t have $500. It"s more than I have."

「这比我身上带的钱还多,我没有500元这么多」

Or you can also say:

或者你也可以说:

" It"s more than I can pay." Or

「这价格高过我能够给付的」或是:

" It"s more than I can afford."

「这远超出我可以负担的」

So now you"ve opened the door, you"ve started the discussion, saying:

现在你已开门见山的讨论:

" I"m interested in this globe, but it doesn"t really, you know, match what I can pay you."

「我对这个地球仪很有兴趣,但是你知道,在价钱方面不符合我能够给付的范围」

So let"s see where the conversation can go from here.

接着我们就看这段对话的发展。

Okay, now you"ve asked about the price, you"ve commented that it"s a bit too expensive.

你已经询价,也表达了商品价格太昂贵。

It"s time to make an offer.

现在就是出价的时候。

It"s time to say what you can pay for it.

告诉对方你可以付多少钱购买。

So, there are a couple of phrases that you can use.

这里有一些你可以使用的短语。

You can say, for example: " Would you sell it for $200? "

举个例子,你可以说:「你可以以200元卖出吗?」。

That"s really low.

那是很低的价格。

You can also say: " Would you take $200? " ,

你也可以说:「200元你愿意割爱吗?」

" How about $200? "

「200元你看呢?」

If you want to be very direct: " I"ll give you $200."

如果你希望很直接地表达,就说:「我可以给你 200 元」

Okay? So, very direct, saying: " I will give you $200."

懂吗?非常直接的说:「我可以给你200元」

Now, it"s in their face.

然后观察他们的表情。

Right? So they"re like: " Oo, it"s $200. I want $500, but this man is offering me $200 right now."

他们在想:「喔,这个要 200元。而我要卖500元,不过这个人现在出价200元了」

Maybe this phrase will get you the result you want.

或许这种说法可以让你得到你想要的结果。

Maybe not.

或许不行。

Maybe they"ll say:

卖家有可能说:

" Uh, I"m still not comfortable with 200. Maybe you can meet me halfway. Maybe you can give me 350." Or something like that.

「呃,200 元太少了,或许我们可以各退一步。你可以给我 350元」之类的话。

So, you heard me say: " Meet me halfway."

你听到我刚才说的:「我们各退一步」

This is some extra vocabulary that I"m going to give you guys now.

这是我现在额外要告诉大家的词汇。

So " to meet someone halfway" or " to meet someone in the middle" is to basically take the high cost, the high price, take the low offer of the person, and then compromise, meet in the middle.

这两个短语的意思就是用卖家出的较高价格,和买家出的较低的价格,折衷各退一步。

So, for example, the buyer wants to pay $200.

例如,买家想以200元购买。

The seller wants the buyer to pay $500.

卖家希望买家以500元购买。

" Can you meet me in the middle? "

「我们可以各退一步吗?」

Maybe between 200 and 500 is 350.

200元和500元折衷大约是 350 元。

So, they"ll say: " Okay. I can meet you halfway. I can meet you in the middle, and we"ll agree to pay $350."

因此,卖家会说:「好吧,我同意各退一步。你只要付 350 元」

Now, again, maybe the seller thinks that $200 is really low.

然而,卖家也可能认为 200 元实在是太少了。

He thinks that is a terrible offer, so he might say: " $200, that"s a lowball figure."

他觉得那是个很糟糕的出价,所以他可能会说:「200 元,那根本是虚报低价」

So, imagine like when you"re negotiating, you"re kind of playing a game of baseball in a way.

试想当你在讨价还价时,某方面来说就像在打棒球赛。

So " a lowball figure" is a low number that the seller. . .

Sorry.

对不起。

The buyer knows it"s a low number because they expect the seller to give them, you know, better than $500 still.

买家知道出价过低因为他们希望卖家能够便宜出售。总比付500元要来得好。

And the person selling might ask: " Do you have a ballpark? "

卖家也许会问:「你有个大约的数字吗」

" Do you have. . . ? "

「你有什么想法吗……

" What"s your price range? "

" What is your budget? "

" What is your ballpark? "

「你的大概的数目是?」

You can say: " My ballpark is between $200 and $300. That"s how much money I am looking to spend."

你可以这样回答:「我大概的数目是是介于 200 元到 300 元之间。这是我愿意给付的价格」

Which, again, the final question:

也就是,再一次,最后一个问题解答:

" I"m looking to spend between _______ and _______."

「我愿意付_____到______之间的价格」

So, we"ve asked about the cost, we have commented about the cost and not liking it, we"ve made an offer, we"ve maybe used some extra vocabulary to kind of make the exchange nice and social and comfortable.

好,我们已经问了价钱,表达了对价格不满意,也出了价,或许,我们能额外的使用一些词汇让买卖双方的交流更加美好、和睦而愉快。
