What Is theZero Conditional? 什么是零条件?
Zero conditional is easy to form because all the verbs are in present tense. You just use two clauses, one with If + simple present verb and the other with another simple present verb: 所有的动词都是现在时，所以条件句很容易形成。你只要用两个从句，一个是If +一般现在时，另一个是一般现在时:If + Present Simple, …. Present Simple. 如果+一般现在时,....一般现在时。
For example: 例如:
If you freeze water, it turns into ice. 如果你把水冷冻，它就会变成冰。
And, ifyou heat water at 100 degrees, it boils. 如果你把水加热到100度，它就会沸腾。
Ifstudents miss an exam, the professor fails them. 如果学生考试不及格，教授就让他们不及格。
You can reverse the order of the clauses. If the “if” clause comes first, a comma is usually used. If the “if” clause comes second, there is no need for a comma. 你可以颠倒这些从句的顺序。如果“If”从句放在前面，通常用逗号。如果“If”从句在后面，就不需要逗号了。For example: 例如:
The professor fails studentsif they miss an exam. 如果学生考试不及格，教授就判他们不及格。
I get tiredif I work too much. 如果我工作太多就会累。
We often use the imperative or the modal verb in the main clause when we give some advice or instructions. 当我们给出建议或指示时，我们经常在主句中使用祈使句或情态动词。For example: 例如:
If I’m late for dinner, they start eating without me. 如果我吃饭迟到了，他们就开始自己吃了。
The ‘if‘ in this conditional can usually be replaced by ‘when‘ without changing the meaning. 这个条件句中的if通常可以替换为when，而不需要改变意思。For example: 例如:
When people eat too much, they get fat. (= If people eat too much, they get fat.) 当人们吃得太多时，他们会变胖。
‘Unless‘ means the same as ‘if not‘. Unless和if not意思相同。For example: 例如:
Unless he asks you politely, refuse to do any more work on the project. (= If he doesn’t ask you politely, refuse to do any more work on the project.) 除非他礼貌地问你，否则拒绝在这个项目上做更多的工作。
How to Use the Zero Conditional 如何使用零条件
The zero conditional is is used for actual facts, scientific events, things which are always true. “零条件”是用来描述真实的事实、科学事件和总是正确的事情。
For example: 例如:
Ifyou heat ice, it melts. 如果你加热冰，它就会融化。
Ifyou cross an international date line, the time changes. 如果你越过了国际日期变更线，时间就会改变。
And, if public transport is efficient, people stop using their cars. 而且，如果公共交通是有效的，人们停止使用他们的汽车。
If my wife has a cold, I usually catch it. 如果我妻子感冒了，我通常会被感染。
